The Heart Behind Jay Denee' Naturals
I started Jay Denee’ Naturals for my sister, who struggled with severe scalp eczema. Her hair was falling out in patches, and as a cosmetologist, I felt like I had failed her. I searched store shelves for anything that might help, but nothing worked. That pushed me into researching natural ingredients and creating my own recipes.
I learned that shea butter was excellent for eczema, and from there I began exploring oils, herbs, and other butters that could support healing. I made small batches and tested them, and one formula worked so well that other parents began asking where they could get it. That moment sparked the beginning of Jay Denee’ Naturals.
As word spread, people asked me to create shampoos, candles, soaps, and more. That’s how the product side of my business was born from a place of care, curiosity, and a desire to help.
The salon side came just as naturally. I went to cosmetology school, honed my craft, and eventually became an instructor, teaching for five years. I later opened my own salon so I could offer both services and products to people who needed something gentle, effective, and different.
As I grew in my career, I became more interested in the science behind the ingredients I used where they came from, how they worked, and why they mattered. Even though I once feared science and doubted myself, a friend reminded me that I was already a scientist and a chemist; I just didn’t have the degree yet. That encouragement pushed me to pursue formal education so I could help others through teaching and formulation.
From my hands to yours, may peace be and remain with you as you journey into my space, a place built from love, learning, and the desire to help others feel whole.
